LRCFA Launch Referee Friendly Clubs Pilot Project
We are delighted to announce the launch of a new pilot project called Referee Friendly Clubs. The aim of this project is to create the best environment for referees across Leicestershire and Rutland.
Each club will have a Referee Liaison Officer onsite to welcome the referees on a matchday and provide them with any support they may need.
Referee mentors will also regularly attend matchdays to provide vital feedback to the referees and further develop match officials in Leicestershire and Rutland.
Why should my club become a referee friendly club?
- Create a positive welcoming environment at your club for referees
- Support referees in their development and inspire the next generation of match officials
- Financial incentive and plaque to display at the club
We currently have four clubs signed up for the project below, and we look forward to working with them in the coming months to create a positive environment, not just for referees, but for all players, coaches, and parents on matchdays.
- Epworth Forest
- Harborough Town
- Hinckley Borough
- Lutterworth Athletic
Jacob Lehane, Referee Development Lead, highlighted the importance of this new initiative, he said: "It is great to have this brand-new project launched across the county; we hope to create the best environment for all stakeholders and enhance our referee development offer even further."
