There is a player pathway for young female players, from the age of five to adult years via Weetabix Wildcat’s, Leicestershire Womens and Girls Football League, plus a number of recreational opportunities also available in between to suit any need, ability and playing experience.
Leicestershire and Rutland County FA have a dedicated officer working specifically on developing the female game, with a remit of developing a wide range of new and existing opportunities for females of all ages and abilities to participate alongside offering support to clubs, players, coaches and volunteers. FA GIRLS FOOTBALL SCHOOL PARTNERSHIPS SUPPORTED BY BARCLAYS
The FAGFSP is a nationwide scheme that aims to mainstream football in schools for girls. The initiative will aim to create a network of 300 school partnerships by 2024, each with a dedicated education expert with the knowledge and understanding of education and girls’ football in their local area.

Squad Girls
The aim for this new and exciting programme is to provide girls between the ages of 12-14 a fun, relevant and engaging recreational offer that allows them to develop themselves as much as their football skills in a safe, inclusive environment.
