Every referees journey starts out at the beginning of the ladder, but if you want to start to take steps towards the next level or even aspire to be officiating at an international standard, we're here to guide you along the way.

Due to a change in the FA's regulations, the 2019/20 referee promotion season will commence on the 1st March 2019 and end on 30th April 2020.

To apply for promotion for the 2019/20 season, you will be required to complete the online application as well as returning the promotion Service Level Agreement (SLA) to the Referee’s Department (return details at the bottom of this article).

Applications are to be submitted no later than Friday 21st March 2019.

Please ensure that you read the Promotion Scheme Guidance Booklet. All of the necessary information regarding promotion can be found within this booklet along with the criteria required to be successful in achieving your promotion to the next level.

Please do not apply for promotion until you have read the promotion guidance booklet and fully understand the criteria outlined within.

Remember, you only have until 21st March 2019 to apply.
